Ursa
Element: Earth
Allegiance: Northern
Henshin Phrase: "Mother Bear, lend me your great strength!"
Henshin Item: None- Arthes is closely attuned to her element, so she doesn't need an item.
Uniform:
Starting from the bottom... Ursa's feet are covered by dark brown leather boots, in turn covered from ankle to knee in sand-colored fur leggings bound by criss-crossing dark brown leather straps. Anyone privileged to look higher than that will see red-brown leggings. However, these are normally covered by a long outer shirt.
This shirt starts as a bodice, bound by leather at the front, tied just below her breasts. After that, it flares out to cover her lower body, ending at the knees. Its sleeves cover the shoulders and upper arm like a mantle. The whole affair is moss green, except at the hem of the sleeves and at the bottom hem. These hems are several inches wide and decorated with a triangular pattern; the lower triangles are dark brown, the upper ones are red-brown.
Intriguing as it might be to leave most of Ursa's upper chest bare, she has a red-brown undershirt beneath the bodice/outer shirt. The undershirt's neckline is a straight line ending a little below her collarbone. The sleeves are long and puffy, tucking into dark brown leather gloves. The gloves themselves reach about halfway up the forearm, flaring out, though the inner arm areas have been cut in a rounded "v" to taper further towards the wrist, facilitating hand movement.
Attacks / Techniques:
Terran Pulse Scan
By pressing her ear and palms to the ground and closing her eyes, Ursa can sense what's going on far away. This is partially the "ear to the ground to hear the buffalo herds" trick, but it's also a sort of spiritual bonding ritual; Ursa can see vague outlines and feel things that are happening close to the ground. She can also use this power to "see" into caves, getting a vague layout of the interior. This power is usable in civillian form, although it's less powerful and takes more concentration. In warrior form, Ursa can sense outlines, distinct voices and sounds, and feelings/layouts for about ten minutes maximum; Arthes can only sense vague voices and sounds and major feelings and layouts, and for about a minute at a time.
Ursa is very vulnerable when doing this power, both because it takes her a few moments to recover from it and because, well, she can't exactly jump up from the ground, being pregnant and all. -_^ This type of sensing isn't detectable, except by powerful magical methods. If people are inside a house with a floor, in the air, or up in trees, Ursa can't sense them.
Geomorph
By standing still and concentrating, Ursa can take the form of the ground around her, becoming a humanoid mass of earth. This involves a lot of concentration and energy- she can only keep it up for about three minutes standing still, thirty seconds moving- but while in this form she is capable of shrugging off more damage as well as moving through earth. If she drops this power while in the middle of an earth form, she'll be "pushed" out into open air again.
In this form, Ursa is resistant to fire, wind, and most energy-based attacks, and physical attacks are not as effective as they would be normally. Water-based attacks do double damage, however.
Blasting Fissure Split!
Ursa brings her hammer down onto the ground with smashing force, causing an earthquake. Great cracks open up, spreading from the point of impact for several yards. These generally open into underground caverns, so if any person around falls into one of the cracks, she's going to survive, but may be really hurt or have broken bones. The fissures close up after battle.
This costs about a quarter of Ursa's energy per casting. It's reasonably easy to dodge, provided you can keep your footing from the quake. It isn't smart; the fissures spread forward, so any allies in the way will have to dodge.
Bone Crush Impact!
Ursa tosses her hammer into the air. It crashes down to the ground, causing major ground disturbance along the lines of "large meteor crashing." All ground within a radius of 100 feet explodes upwards, sending anybody standing on it airborne. Giant ground fragments fly everywhere, causing ouchies. The crater is a permanent effect.
In general, this is a pretty harmful attack. It's not particularly dodgeable, although the flying chunks of earth can be blocked with a standard shield. The only way to avoid being sent flying by the impact of Ursa's hammer is to not be within the effect radius. However, this attack isn't "smart." Allies and enemies alike are affected by the power, so it's usually a last-ditch effort. Being such a major attack, it takes a lot of Ursa's energy to pull off- about half of it.
Weapon:
Ursa wields a polearm, the staff of which measures to just above her chin. It's topped with a heavy sphere, and is designed for bludgeoning. The staff is made of dark, red-brown, shining hardwood. Its business end looks like a globe of Astrum-Sidus- it's made of moss agate at the top, bisected by a glimmering ring of chatoyant apatite (a shimmering blue stone), with the lower hemisphere a cloudy carnelian. Very pretty, but also not the most fun thing to have land on your head- the sphere is quite heavy.
