Justice Seffaszi
Meaning:
"Justice" - Should be reasonably obvious. ^_^;
"Seffaszi" - Hungarian, compound word from "sef" (chef) and
"faszi" (guy/geezer)
All together, it's gibberish, but I like to pretend it means
"Geezer Chef of JUSTICE!"
Birth Date: December 23
Sign: Capricorn
Blood Type: O-
Gemstone: Serpentine
Age: 16
Appearance:
Justice is a pretty average-sized guy, if a bit chubby- he stands
around 5'8" when he straightens up, and weighs in the range of 170 pounds,
give or take. He's not exactly fat, but he isn't the pinnacle of human
perfection or anything. His skin's quite pale, since he spends most of his
time inside, although it's a rosy color, not the chalk white of consumptives.
It's reasonably clear of acne and whatnot, since Justice IS an anime person.
^_- He doesn't take much interest in taming his emerald green hair, so it's
generally in a tousled mass that parts on the left and hangs to the nape of
his neck. He wears spiky bangs, although they're relatively short; they stop
just above his sunshine yellow eyes. Yes, yellow eyes, as in the primary
color. In front of these myopic orbs are a pair of rectangular smoked
spectacles of a fairly high prescription; Justice has good night vision, but
poor everything else vision. The overall effect can be sort of cute, although
usually Justice spoils the effect by grimacing in pain from his arthritis.
Likes: A consistent routine, people who follow the rules, nighttime, being left
alone to work on his culinary art, underground areas
Dislikes: Bright light, stairs, standing for long periods of time, people who
try to help him in cooking ("Too many cooks spoil the broth! Go make your own
food if you know so much about it!")
Hobbies: Cooking (he's gotten friendly enough with the kitchen staff that he
can wander in during his free time and whip up random culinary masterpieces),
complaining about his joints
Feelings about P.E.: Justice hates P.E. He's arthritic, so what would you
expect?
Favorite School Subject: Chem lab- it's basically the same as cooking.
Hated School Subject: Other than P.E.? Probably English- Justice's ideal book
is a cookbook, although he does like reading. He just hates dissecting the
elements of a story to see what symbolism was used, since it takes most of the
enjoyment out of it for him.
Friends & Family:
Marianne Seffaszi (Mother)
A rather plump woman in her mid-thirties, Marianne has claimed her
place in the Seffaszi household as Queen of the Kitchen. The numerous servants
and whatnot can go about their cleaning and whatnot in the Seffaszi manor in
relative peace, but anyone who staffs the kitchen is subject to whatever orders
this aging brunette may have. Of course, she's not just bossing people around
for no reason- Marianne could probably be one of the top five cooks in the
country, although her cooking has only been tried by her family and visitors.
Dimitri Seffaszi (Father)
Dimitri is a colonel in the Hungarian army, and as such is usually out
doing... er, colonel stuff. ^_^; He's a rather militaristic person (go figure),
demanding efficiency and unwavering obedience from the servants whenever he's
around. He's often disappointed as for the most part the servants believe
(rightly so, most of the time) that they know their job better than he does.
Alonso Seffaszi (Older Brother)
As the big strong healthy brother, Alonso is pretty much the kid favored
by his father, and is currently a recruit in the army. He takes his coloration
from his mother, but has his father's muscular form. He's usually given to
annoying his younger brother whenever the two are together, in the tradition of
siblings since time immemorial.
Agatha Kent (Head Cook)
A fairly amiable- if difficult to impress- middle-aged woman who, much
like Justice's mother, tends to run the kitchen with an iron fist. Like all
good cooks everywhere, she's quite massive (never trust a thin cook). Her
sandy salt-and-pepper hair is pinned into a tight bun.
Love Life: Not much of one. Justice isn't the most social of people, spending
most of his free time in the kitchen, and girls tend to avoid him because he's
often seen wielding a large sharp object. He has had a crush or two, though.
Should he develop another one, the lucky girl will be the recipient of a wide
variety of pastries and other food items. Justice is shy, not secretive.
History:
Sixteen years ago, in Hungary, a bouncing baby boy was born to the
Seffaszi family. This came as a minor annoyance to the boy's four-year-old
brother, who wasn't happy at the idea of sharing his parents. Thus, Justice
already had it pretty hard, with a jealous four-year-old out to get him. As
he grew, however, one thing pacified Alonso: his younger brother had arthritis.
It wasn't an inflammation to the point that the boy had to be an invalid, but
Justice clearly wasn't about to steal Alonso's position as Daddy's Favorite.
More or less ignored by his father for not being able to perform the
grand physical feats of his brother, Justice turned to his mother, and found
ample attention, especially when he developed an interest in her passion of
cooking. He started with just helping by getting ingredients, then, as he grew
and learned, began making various dishes on his own. Justice learned to read
from cookbooks. By his tenth birthday, he was inventing his own recipes.
Justice's childhood was a bit difficult. He wasn't the happy energetic
social sort of boy, possessing his arthritis and a great amount of shyness, so
he didn't have too many friends. Not that he was entirely alone; most kids do
end up with one or two friends along the way. He also had it somewhat tough at
home, as his brother, while not so jealous anymore, still enjoyed tormenting and
teasing him. Of course, Justice would get his revenge quite often, since he had
Connections in the kitchen...
When the time came to look into secondary schools for Justice, his parents
were both keen on sending him to Atma Academy, where his brother had also gone.
It was easy for the boy to get accepted- he had decent grades in school, other
than his English classes, and his parents were wealthy enough to afford it.
Justice, however, wasn't too happy with the idea of being so far away from home
and his family, and spent the first few weeks in a funk. That is, until he
discovered the kitchens. It took him a few minutes to convince the head cook
that he wasn't trying to steal food, and a bit more to convince her to let him
show his stuff with the equipment. After a trial run, though, he proved himself
to the staff, and ever since has spent most of his free time down there, helping
out in the meal preparation or just seeing what he can whip up.
Personality:
Justice is distinctly uncomfortable in very social situations, generally
standing in some corner or, if it's available, by the food. Although he tries
to hide his awkwardness with a rather dry wit, it's quite obvious the lad is
happiest in the kitchen, whipping up a batch of this or that; only then is he
more likely to be talkative, although his conversation tends to be limited to
orders for someone not to interfere with his culinary genius. However, if you
sit back and don't try to do anything, you can actually hold a conversation with
him, and get to try whatever he's making in the process. ^_^ Because of the
fact that he's so laid-back (for him) while cooking, Justice has befriended most
of the kitchen staff, to the point where he can carry on a reasonably normal
conversation with them even if he isn't preparing a new dish.
With the exception of English class, Justice is a reasonably good student.
He sits in the front of the class (the back in English. ^_^;) and studiously
takes neatly written notes, which are then filed into neat sections of his note-
books and ignored; Justice tends to retain vast amounts of facts in his head with
reasonable precision. He does well with facts (such as pi to the whateverth digit
or just how many teaspoons of salt are needed) but less so with vagaries like, oh,
symbolism in a Dickens novel. However, he doesn't tend to participate much in
class discussions, and will only supply an answer if he's called on, partially
because he's so shy.
One distinct trait that people find when they get to know Justice is his
sense of morals. Perhaps inspired by his name, Justice tends to set himself up
as judge, jury, and executioner. If he sees something happen that he feels is
wrong, he'll take it upon himself to punish the "criminal" in some way. This is
generally by putting something in their food (if he can manage it) or by plotting
some sort of intricate trap. Sometimes it takes months for the punishment to
occur, but Justice is a patient, patient guy. He can nurse a grudge for years
if need be. Of course, Justice in this case isn't blind. His sense of wrongdoing
tends to be pretty personal. Don't mess with the kitchen staff or anyone Justice
likes, and you're probably okay; since he doesn't pay too much attention to other
people and feels that they should fight their own battles.
Another thing you'll notice in Justice is his habit of complaining about
his joints. He does have a reason to complain- the darn things are arthritic and
hurt when overtaxed or when it gets especially humid- and he tends to rant about
them in a more or less amusing way. Still, it's a fairly constant thing with him,
and can get annoying on occasion. Of course, if anyone points out that fact, the
response is, "Well, you should try living with my joints and see how stoic YOU are
with them!"
Unless he's cooking, Justice isn't too keen on moving around. This trait-
borne more out of his aforementioned joint problems rather than laziness- remains
with him in battle. None of this leaping around for Master Tonberry Dragoon, no
siree! He'll just walk in his measured, leisurely pace until he gets where he
needs to be. This would seem to be a bad idea, but, taking after his namesake,
Tonberry is pretty danged tough and can take a LOT of punishment before he goes
down for the count.
