Cecily Rache

Meaning:
Cecily- fem. form of Cecil, "blind"
Rache- German, "vengeance"

Age: 14

Birth date: November 8

Zodiac: Scorpio

Blood type: O-

Likes: Dreams, soft fuzzy things, fine cuisine, listening to music, her status
as a god, striking back at people who've tormented her, striking back at people
who haven't tormented her ^_^;

Dislikes: Being pitied, her blindness, the cold, roses, loud noises

Personality:
Cecily is a very bitter young lady. Admittedly, she has reasons for it-
a lifetime of torment by bullies followed by the revelation that one is a god will
do that to one. Thanks to her experiences with humans, she tends to shoot first
and ask questions later if she senses some sort of a threat. Also because of her
experiences, she's very private. It's hard to get to know her if you're a Lael;
it's IMPOSSIBLE to get to know her if you're a mere mortal. She REALLY treats the
Undesirables as their name suggests. As long as a mortal treats her in the way
she wishes to be treated, she's happy with them. However, if anyhting's wrong,
she tends to take it out on the guilty party and any other mortals nearby.
The young Lael is generally seen as a lush. Because she's lost one of
her senses, she's determined to play up the other four and surrounds herself with
things to do just that. Her quarters are filled with interesting textures and
smells, and there's always music playing. Meals are sumptuous and contain a good
deal of variety. Now that Cecily's getting the hormones associated with puberty,
she may have... other pursuits as well... if she can find a willing Stigma-bearer.
She would NEVER consider intimacy with an Undesirable. There's just nothing to
desire in them. -_^
If you're a particularly persistent person (and a Stigma-bearer), you
could conceivably get past the layers of bitterness and hedonism. This would take
a good deal of time, as Cecily doesn't want to show who she really is: a frightened
little girl who's always been pushed around and is afraid to be completely in-
dependent. As much as she espouses the notion that the Undesirables should all be
slaughtered, she's really just trying to stay in an accepting surrogate family.
She hasn't given thought, for example, to the fact that her mother's an Un-
desirable...

Physical Description:
Since she hasn't finished her growth spurt yet, Cecily's a bit on the
short side, with long, thin limbs and the beginnings of a feminine figure. Her
skin's reasonably smooth, except for some tiny scars around the top of her face-
for one thing, her penchant for textures extends to skin cremes; for another,
nature seems to have taken pity on her and not made her have to deal with blind-
ness AND acne- and is colored a lovely light tan, though Cecily herself can't
appreciate this fact anymore. Her eyes were grayish-brown at one time; now they're
masses of scar tissue, usually covered by a blindfold. The right eye bears her
Stigma.
Apart from her eyes, Cecily will probably grow into a fairly attractive
woman. Her face is well-proportioned, with thick peach-colored lips, a softly
rounded nose, and gentle contours. However, she can also be quite unpleasant to
look on when she's displeased: her features twist into a scowl that could be
likened to a demon's.
Crowning all this is Cecily's hair. It's very soft and fluffy, though
not curly. The stuff is about medium length, stopping between her shoulderblades.
It's never up if she can help it- Cecily hates the way it feels when things tug on
her hair.

School: Homeschooled

History:
Cecily's had a pretty hard life. The only memories she has of her father
are vague at best- she recalls him as a friendly man with light hair and a strong
build. He abandoned his daughter and her mother when Cecily was about three years
old. Rather than leave her daughter alone or give her to others to care for, Molly
Rache did whatever odd jobs she could with her child in tow. This meant that she
was unemployed a lot of the time.
The Rache women got very little help from others- nobody they knew had
enough to spare, and Molly was too proud to ask for help from the church. She'd
occasionally steal things, but gave that up after she almost got caught. Cecily
herself was too shy to even try begging, although they did make a fair amount on
the street because of the young girl's looks- people felt pity for such an adorable
waif. Because she was so shy, Cecily was often a target for bullies, and there were
a LOT of bullies among the downtrodden. This helped her to believe that the only
person in the world she could trust was her mother, consequently making the two even
closer than they would have otherwise been.
During her eleventh year, Cecily suffered the worst torment she'd ever had
in her life. A group of bullies shoved her down a hill and into the overgrown
brambles of a wild rose bush. Her eyes took the brunt of the thorns. She managed
to pull herself from the bush after a bit, doing more damage in the process. Her
mother found her a few minutes later. For the first time, Molly Rache went to the
church for help, and even accepted some food and supplies during the girl's stay.
Cecily herself was given enough care to survive, but the world of color and light
was lost to her forever.
It took mother and daughter a long time to recover from this shock. Molly
blamed the incident on herself for not watching Cecily enough. Cecily, of course,
placed the blame squarely on her bullies. The folks at the church tried to teach
the young girl forgiveness, and had they gotten to her at another time they might
have succeeded. Now, however, Cecily had had too much of her downtrodden life, and
was definitely of the opinion that some serious butt-kicking was in order. Un-
fortunately, at the time she was entirely unable to do it.
For two years, the blinded girl worked on being able to make her way
around, all the while nursing the grudge towards her tormentors. This was helped by
the fact that even after she was blinded they didn't let up. In fact, her handicap
gave them a whole new aspect of torture. It got especially bad when Thanatos von
Lumen sent all the humans to Jigoku. Cecily became more and more withdrawn from the
rest of the world, and more and more dependent on her mother.
On her thirteenth birthday, however, everything changed. It was her mother
that noticed the stigma on her daughter when she was helping Cecily bathe. Of course,
knowing that those who bear a stigma were holy, she immediately brought this to the
attention of Jigoku's guards. At first, they thought it was a fake, and threatened
her. That's when Cecily manifested her power, blinding them both. She was taken in
for testing.
Once it was established that she was, indeed, genuine, Cecily was relocated
to Kadeem and given more wealth and power than she'd ever dreamed of. Of course, it
all went to her head. Molly, intoxicated by her jump in status as well, couldn't
stop her daughter's dropping into the heady life of a lush. The first thing Cecily
did as a god was to send out a search for her former tormentors. Once they were
found, she gleefully took her revenge, using a combination of her powers and just
plain sadism. The bullies were released back into Jigoku, mutilated in body and
mind. Since then, Cecily has kept up a level of spite towards the non-gods to rival
that of Thanatos himself. Her mother's been having a few reservations, but hasn't
said anything yet, slightly afraid of how her child will react.

Family and Friends:
Molly Rache, mother
A young woman in her early thirties, Molly shares her daughter's dusky skin and
gray eyes, although her hair is a much darker black. Also, Molly doesn't share
Cecily's objection to having her hair up, wearing hers in a braid that reaches her
hips. Her face is lined from the worries of being a single working mother. She
obviously loves and cares for her daughter, but pride and mistrust have lead her
to her current state, and now she wonders if she's really been a good mother.

Strengths: Cecily's main strength is that she's very cunning and clever- she's
very good at playing cat and mouse and springing traps on people. This is helped
by the fact that people underestimate the little blind girl a lot.

Fears: The smell of roses tends to give Cecily flashbacks to the time she went
blind, but her main fear is being separated from her mother. Yes, she's very
dependent.

Dreams: For now, Cecily's living her biggest dream- she's become an omnipotent,
wealthy ruler over everyone who tormented her- although she'd also REALLY like to
get her vision back.
