In case you weren’t at either of the last two HAAS meetings, I have an important announcement to make:
I will be resigning my position as President of HAAS effective after this Saturday’s HAAS meeting, April 2. I was offered a job in my career field and will thus be moving next week to El Paso, Texas. I’m scheduled to leave Huntsville on Thursday morning.
Jayson will assume the role of President from the following meeting until the next Presidential election. However, the Vice President post will be open due to Jayson’s appointment to President. We will have a special election during this weekend’s HAAS meeting to fill in this position. To be eligible to run and/or vote, you must have your dues paid.
I will refrain from voting in this election since I will not have much stake in the affairs of HAAS after I leave. I will also be the one to count the ballots with at least one witness for that very same reason. If one of the third-rung officers is elected Vice President, the option of electing another third-rung officer to replace him/her is just that: an option. You may either hold another election immediately after that, or just decide that the society can do with one less officer.
I will also be selling some manga and light novels to lighten the load for my move. They’re $1 a piece. If you’re interested, feel free to show up and buy some off me.
I will be showing up late to this weekend’s meeting, seeing as I have to drive down to Birmingham to pick up one of our members from the airport. I should be at HAAS around 7ish, so if you want to start late, that’s fine. If not, one of the members (Alex, William, whoever) needs to be there with a laptop to set up.
If anyone has any objections to any of this, please spell them out.
